What's Happening

We have been busy lately . . . Papa has a new calf named Spring. The girls love to ride out in the pasture in Papa's Yada (Mazda Miata) to check out the cows. We had some beautiful weather a last week so we spent one morning at the park with Mama Sandy. Kourt and Kamryn love to swing and Kendall loves to try the monkey bars. We were so impressed that Kamryn could figure out how to do the big see-saw by using her body to make it rock back and forth.
Ken and I took the big girls to cheer on the Gymdogs at the SEC Championships in Birmingham AL. We had a great time tailgating before the meet. We couldn't have asked for better seats - front row! The girls were so excited - especially Karlee. After the meet, we had a pizza picnic in the hotel before we headed to the pool for a swim.

Karlee had her end of the year awards banquet for gymnastics last week. It was a fun time to see all the girls together and look back on the season. Karlee won the "Most Team Spirit" award for the way she always cheers on her teammates at meets and in practice. I am so proud of how hard Karlee and her teammates worked this past year. Karlee, especially starting so late in the training season with barely a two months before her first meet. And WOW how she improved from the beginning of the season to the end. Her all-around score went up about five points in that time. She has worked so hard and we are so proud of her.

National Gymnastics Challenge - Vault Champion

Karlee had her first gymnastics meet since the season ended in November. The meet was local - in Athens - so she had lots of friends and family come to watch. She did awesome!!!! I was so proud of her whole team. They have improved so much since their last meet. They were the first place team for their age group and they only had 4 girls!!! They beat out other teams that had at least 10 gymnasts. Karlee won second place All-Around, 1st place on vault and 2nd place on bars, beam and floor. She had a great time competing and was so proud of her awards.
